TCP/UDP monitoring allows you to verify that your network services are reachable and responding correctly over both TCP and UDP protocols. FunnyMonitors can attempt connections across the full range from 1 to 65535, giving you the flexibility to monitor databases, email servers, applications and custom services. For TCP checks, we establish a connection and send a small amount of data to confirm the service responds as expected. UDP monitoring is also supported, and while response validation is continually being improved, any successful response or connection is currently treated as a valid check. In future updates, we plan to allow you to define which responses should be considered successful or failed, giving you greater control over how your services are monitored. For the latest updates on these improvements, please see our announcements page.
With FunnyMonitors, you can monitor any port from 1 to 65535 using either TCP or UDP, giving you full control over how your services are monitored. This flexibility allows you to quickly identify when a service becomes unavailable and exactly which monitor is affected, so you can resolve the issue immediately. Check intervals can be as frequent as 30 seconds on some plans, with most plans offering reliable 60-second monitoring. We fully support both TCP and UDP protocols, and if your infrastructure is protected by a firewall, we can provide our monitoring subnets so you can whitelist our servers while keeping your firewall protections in place.
